Drawing on information from several sources Ken van Neijenhoff (1950) was inspired to write the book The Tangier Connection while he was sailing around the Mediterranean on a small yacht. A story of a yachtsman who got involved in the smuggling of hashish in the 1980s from Morocco.
The Tangier Connection" describes the experiences of a yachtsmen who in the eighties got involved in smuggling hashish, the number -one export product of Morocco. During that period he made his acquaintance of a traditional native girl Samira, and fell in love with her. Their relationship was not accepted by Moroccan standards, and as a result he encountered serious problems.
