A New Light on Amsterdam

In A New Light on Amsterdam, Dutch artist Gosse Bouma shares his unique views of Amsterdam. Working solely under natural light, the award-winning photographer paints a one-of-a-kind and powerful portrait of the city he loves so much - and which is celebrating its 750th anniversary in 2025.

In this first book, Bouma embarks on a visual journey through the capital of the Netherlands, creating serene cityscapes with a touch of melancholy – from the cobblestoned bridges and diverse facades, to the quaint quays and narrow alleyways.

His work reflects a deep reverence for the city's past and present, a dialogue between glow and gloom, history and modernity - a city in a new light.
